Our REIT project teams mobilize quickly to restructure and recapitalize trusts and structure innovative, well-timed IPOs and acquisitions to help clients maximize deal value while complying with the diverse requirements of REIT laws.
Representative Experience
- Advised a Japanese financial institution acting as an underwriter on preparing for the IPO of a Japanese REIT company that invests in hotel assets.
- Advised a REIT company from Singapore on the acquisition of multiple hotel properties in Tokyo, Japan by a fund managed by a Singaporean real estate investment firm for total purchase consideration of JPY 5.8 billion.
- Advised a Japanese REIT company acting as the asset manager on the acquisition of three nursing home properties by a Singaporean REIT company through a Japanese entity.
- Represented a Japanese asset management company in the sale of trust beneficiary interests in four residential apartment buildings located in Tokyo and Sapporo to a J-REIT.
- Advised a Japanese REIT company on the repayment of its existing loan in connection with the issuance of new shares and the acquisition of 14 properties.
