Baker McKenzie Announces 67 Partnership Promotions, including four partners from the Tokyo office
Combining this year’s promotions and new lateral hires, the Firm added 95 partners
July 1, 2021 – Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce that 67 of our colleagues have been promoted to partner with effect from today. Globally, across the Firm’s practice groups, M&A and Tax saw the largest intake of new partners, with Dispute Resolution also contributing significantly to the overall number.
During the 2021 Financial Year, Baker McKenzie also added 28 lateral partner hires, demonstrating the Firm’s continued commitment to investing in top talent across the globe. Combining this year’s promotions and new lateral talent, the Firm added 95 Partners to its ranks.

In the Tokyo office, Masao Katsuyama (Corporate/M&A),Maki Kawamura (Real Estate), Michio Suzuki (Antitrust/Competition), and Ryosuke Tateishi (Dispute Resolution) have been promoted to partner, while Seiji Tomimoto (Corporate/M&A) and Hiroki Watanabe (Capital Markets)have been promoted to counsel as of today.
