Our office has taken a lead role in advising clients on the enactment in Japan of the Law on the Protection of Personal Information. Our experts on this topic helped develop compliance rules and policies for many clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries who own and manage personal information and provide in-house training to relevant company personnel on the implementation and enforcement of such policies. We develop practical and strategic privacy compliance solutions at local and global levels, and help clients observe informed consent requirements and contractual implications of confidentiality rules.
