2017 Asia Pacific Automotive Seminar
Baker McKenzie’s Automotive Seminar will bring together a panel of regional lawyers and external speakers to discuss the issue of product liability in the Asia Pacific region and how companies can identify and manage the various risks and liabilities that may arise, their implications, and the impact of new mobility services, including self-driving cars and connected cars, on the current legal and insurance systems.
The discussion will cover:
- Product liability regimes in the Asia-Pacific region
- Which parties are exposed to liability
- Regulators’ expectations
- Best practices in preventing liability
- Practical application of concepts using a hypothetical automotive malfunction case study
- Recent progress on the development of self-driving cars in Japan, the US and Europe
- Recent developments in the revision of laws and auto insurance systems associated with the evolution of self-driving technology and the establishment of new mobility services
We will also lead a discussion on the various regulatory regimes under different trade agreements.
