Baker McKenzie advises KKR on its acquisition of Central Tank Terminal
Baker & McKenzie (Gaikokuho Joint Enterprise) advised KKR, a leading global investment firm, on its acquisition of Central Tank Terminal (“CTT”), a leading Japanese chemical storage tank operator from an affiliate of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (“MIRA”). The transaction is expected to be completed by Q4 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
Tetsuo Tsujimoto led Baker McKenzie’s team on the transaction, assisted by partners Toshio Shimada and Taijiro Suzuki and senior associates Satoshi Abe, Hiroyuki Kitamura and Kenta Nobe.
Commenting on the deal, Tetsuo said, “We are honored to be involved in KKR’s milestone M&A transaction — their first infrastructure investment in Japan. Obviously, chemical tank storage services are important basic infrastructure for many industries. KKR’s investment in CTT provides further bolt-on opportunities for CTT growth and will be invaluable to Japanese industry.”
